Massage for Fertility and Reproductive Support

Fertility and Reproductive Care Featuring; The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy (R)

The ancient techniques of Maya massage are based on the simple premise that trauma to the body can, and often does, disturb and displace a woman’s reproductive organs. This can cause dozens of painful or debilitating symptoms. By repositioning the uterus with gentle abdominal massage, many symptoms can be safely resolved, easily and permanently.

These can include blocked fallopian tubes, thin linings, Asherman’s syndrome, ovarian cysts, fibroids, polyps, endometriosis, painful period, irregular and no periods, HPV, and peri and menopausal issues to name a few. It is also helpful for male conditions such as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), low sperm count, morphology and motility, and urinary issues.

Unlike other massages, patients will learn a simple and relaxing 5-minute Self-care massage. This is a major tool that helps patients to continue the supportive healing process at home on a daily basis. The massage helps create better circulation to remove the blocks in the pelvic and abdominal circulation, lymphatic drainage, and nerve connections. This also strengthens the ligaments that support the uterus and realigns other pelvic organs so the body can return to its innate rhythm and natural state of health.

Arvigo Maya Abdominal Therapy (and acupuncture combinations) to address Digestion, Elimination, and Bladder Complaints

Maya Massage alone or in combination with acupuncture is a perfect combination for treating abdominal discomfort and other medical conditions. They work together to support the body’s natural systems to get back to working on track! Massage is great for physically helping the abdominal organs to regain their natural working order gently and effectively. While acupuncture (if you are open to trying it) can support the bodi’s natural mechanism to rebalance through the meridian or Qi system of health. This can address the true root of these problems instead of just treating the recurrent symptoms.

These conditions include; Chronic constipation, bloating, gas, burping, acid indigestion, IBS, Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, abdominal and pelvic scar tissue, urinary incontinence, urgency, urinary stream issues, to name a few.

Pregnancy Acupuncture & Maya Massage

As you move into this next chapter in your life, you will find it carries many new experiences. Prenatal Acupuncture and Maya Massage Therapy are important tools you can start using from conception on to support you and your baby through these changes (and sometimes challenges).  It is a natural approach to harmonize any added stress to your physical and emotional body while preparing for birth and beyond.

It is just like a regular massage, or acupuncture treatment: it loosens the muscles and joints, improves circulation for you and your baby, and relieves fatigue, acid reflux, and nausea.

You can start receiving treatments on day 1. However, you need to make sure your prenatal massage and acupuncture are performed by a certified prenatal specialist who is able to target the unique needs of mothers-to-be in each trimester. These therapists are adept at working with specific conditions that can occur during pregnancy, such as pelvic pain, and digestive and elimination issues.

The length of your prenatal session can range from sixty minutes to two hours depending on your specific needs. Several techniques are employed such as:

Swedish massage, myofascial, stretching & range of motion, and other modalities to relax and soothe the body, and to treat and ease tensions. At the end of the session, you are left feeling restored, relaxed, and comfortable in your happy body. You will also gain secrets on how to sleep better, foods that support pregnancy, relaxation techniques, and exercises to support you during this time of added stress.

As your pregnancy progresses, you will find each trimester will hold its own unique needs from your body. I am here to support you every step of your journey from fertility support, through pre and postnatal.

Vaginal Steam aka V-Steam

Known in Central America as Bajos (ba-hoes) or in Korea as Chai-yok, these baths have been used around the world for centuries to foster good uterine and vaginal health.  Steams are especially effective for women with a misplaced uterus, which can lead to symptoms such as dark menstrual blood, cramping, periods that stop and start, as well as repeated yeast and other bacterial infections.  They are also helpful for cervical dysplasia and can enhance fertility, supporting natural cycles, and increasing the efficacy of assisted reproductive techniques.

Some women may think of their lower bodies as separate, especially if there has been some type of trauma (physically, emotionally, or spiritually) in the pelvis.  This treatment helps them pamper themselves “down there” and reconnect with their bodies.

Think of a V-Steam as a facial for your vagina. It creates the same effects as a facial, but it does it so internally for your uterus and vaginal canal. It is a wonderful way to treat menstrual problems and bring welcomed relief! The V-Steam is also an effective treatment for relief in peri- and post-menopausal years. Unlike using chemicals and pharmaceuticals, there are no adverse side effects. The steams are pH balanced and the herbs used are all organic.

The V-Steam increases blood flow and circulation to the uterus, making it ideal for fertility.  The steams are PH-balanced and contain natural, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties. Truly a wonderful compliment when preparing the uterus for conception. Used 24 hours before retrieval or transfer, doctors and patients have found they enhance the ease and efficacy of these procedures.

How and what acupuncture treats

Acupuncture

Imagine a subway system. When there is no obstruction on the tracks the trains run smoothly. Now if there is just one problem at a small local station and one train gets stuck there is only a little disruption to the system. The rest of the system does not shut down and you can find a way around that station. However, if a major station such as Grand Central or Times Square goes down it can make it a lot harder to get to your destination!!! Hence that is what happens in the body when there are blockages in their lines aka meridians. The good new is acupuncture helps to reopen the stations so your energy/ Qi can run smoothly again!

Acupuncture is a component of a proven healthcare systems of the Orient that can be traced back at least 2,500 years. The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that there are patterns of energy flow (Qi) & meridians throughout the body that are essential for health. Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for the disease, and it's root causes. Acupuncture, can correct imbalances of energy flow (including blood and circulation) flow at identifiable points close to the skin and regain movement of proper Qi throughout the body.

Acupuncture is a family of procedures involving stimulation of anatomical locations on or in the skin by a variety of techniques. There are a variety of approaches to diagnosis and treatment in American acupuncture that incorporate medical traditions from China, Japan, Korea, and other countries. The most thoroughly studied mechanism of stimulation of acupuncture points by needles, which are manipulated manually or by electrical stimulation. Acupressure can uses this same system however, instead of using acupuncture needles hand pressure is used to stimulate and treat the same way needles would be used.

All needs are sterile and one use only. Unlike hypodermic needles, these are so ultra-thin you can tie them in a knot. Most patients do not feel any pain at the insertion, maybe just a slight pinch on occasion. However, the acupuncturist works with the patient to achieve their comfort level in their treatment.

Most patients report having their original complaints resolved along with the side benefit of deeper relaxation and stress release.  I also provide 50/50 combination sessions for patients that like a little of both modalities or just want to try acupuncture for the first time.
